Functional bookmarks
Instant access at your fingertips: commonly-used functions such as important telephone numbers, navigation addresses or radio stations can be individually saved and activated using the eight direct selection keys.
The eight functional bookmarks are part of iDrive, BMW's intuitive control concept. They are positioned directly beneath the CD drive, and offer a fast, convenient way to activate your most often used functions. Instead of going through multiple steps to find target feature, you can simply press an iDrive functional bookmarks.
Your attention remains focussed on the road ahead - a boost for driving safety. You are entirely free to choose which functions are assigned to each of the eight buttons. These may include often-dialled telephone numbers, addresses for the navigation system, your preferred radio stations or your favourite CD (in connection with the CD changer).
The functional bookmarks are touch-sensitive: touching one lightly with a fingertip causes the name of the button's programmed function to be presented on the Info Display. A firmer, brief press activates the function. To programme a button, simply keep it pressed for a longer time.
